revenge of the nerds
Well well well, its Friday the 13th, which doesn't bug me at all really because I was born on the 13th, although the one year my Birthday was on Friday the 13th I failed my 3rd Grade spelling test so maybe it should bug me. Anyways I had the afternoon off work because Im amazing and won last weeks office trivia and an afternoon off was my prize (Sweeeeeeeeet), I thought I'd spend my time wisely doing a post so the Asain's didn't get mad (they often curse me out for being a slacker on the posting) Cheers

It's a Crazy Town full of Neon Dreams
So if you have ever heard the song Crazy Town by Jason Aldean it is 100% correct about Nashville. It is most definitely a crazy town full of neon dreams where everybody sings and everybody plays. You seriously feel like the least talented person because everyone you meet can sing and/or play an instrument. On my current trip to Nashville I met some of the most amazing musicians ever and was baffled that they were not famous. One night we decided to go to a karaoke bar (where we thought there would just be a bunch of drunks signing horrible renditions of some fav's) we were mistaken, even the singers at the karaoke bar were amazing, needless to say we did not participate ahah! Nashville is not just for country fans, its for music fans, every kind of music is recorded and performed in Nashville, that's why its called MUSIC CITY USA! I took so many pictures, here are just a few!
This picture (above) was taken on my tour through the Ryman auditorium, it use to be the home of the grand ole opry back in the day, however because the current home of the opry is ruined due to the massive May 2nd flood the opry has temporarily moved back to the Ryman. I saw Carrie Underwood perform on that stage on Tuesday July 27 :)
The above picture is me infront the the Greek Parthenon replica in Nashville. Nashville is considered the Athens of the South. It is said that this replica is no more that 1 square inch off from the original, it is that exact!
The above picture is a taste of the nightlife. This picture was taken at the world famous Tootsies. It is a 2 floored honky tonk located on Broadway. The band is amazing, and the crowd of people are so friendly. They play everything from new country, old country, rock, blues, top 40! Its a great time, I ended up coming to Tootsies every night! The hottie in the picture is Daniel Eagle, he is a)hot and b) crazy talented, I am positive he will be famous one day :)
Lastly I thought I would include a picture of my new friends, the two boys; Joe and Tom were guys we met from London, England. I met people from all over America and the World, I really hope I can get back one day, after all it is "hollywood with a touch of twang"

Leftovers
Today I was not inspired to really do an outfit post, I spent most of the day in the car driving to visit my Grandma then at my Grandmas house so I was pretty lazy when I got home. After browsing all my blogs I came across Chlöe's blog; http://chloecwaugh.blogspot.com/. I've read her blog a few times before and I always thought she did really cute and different outfits. I was inspired by the header of her blog (pictured below). Since most of my stuff is either in a suitcase ready for my road trip or in the laundry soon to be packed for my roadtrip I had to use my leftover clothes that are not making the cut for the trip. But I still love my simple stripes :) .. Oh and im not trying to be dramatic in these posts, the only reason I'm not looking at my camera is because I ran out of foundation :(

Gold Digger
So I wasn't planning to put a post up tonight, but I walked over to Shoppers Drugmart on my break from work and found this gold nail polish. I buy at least 1 new colour every week, having Shoppers so close (especially when I'm bored at work) is very dangerous because I just want to buy make-up and nail polish! I decided to build an outfit around this nail polish wearing my Garden Collection shorts that I haven't worn yet but will definitely start. However, I shall go pack for the cottage, at least I'll have killer nails while I'm dressed like a bum all weekend.

Earthquake Ensemble
Jumper-H&M, Shoes-Spring, Hat-Costa Blanca,
K, well I wasn't wearing this during the earthquake but I felt like dressing up when I got home from work. It was kind of hard to smile for these pictures because I just got home from the dentist and I was frozen up to my eyeballs. I love this jumper, its beyond comfortable however it is permantely wrinkled, I have tried ironing it then quickly putting it on, and it instantly wrinkles the second I move... oh well.

SPRING/SUMMER TREND - MILITARY
Another hot trend for Spring/Summer 2010 is the MILITARY trend. The 18th Century and Victorian styled uniforms are all the rage for inspiration for this seasons trend. Military takes inspiration from past esthetics and translates it into modern, wearable and functional items.
Military has made its way into our lives season after season but for this Spring/Summer 2010 year, it has taken a new twist! MALE VERSUS FEMALE... hard edge pieces are mixed in with femine flares to create an androgenous appeal. Combat boots are seen paired with silk/chiffon blouses/rompers, and cargo skinny pants paired with luxurious furs.
Structure, color, and embellishments are the things to look for when hunting down military inspired items. Look for structured collars and shoulders with jackets and coats. Colors like army green, olive, navy blue and khaki are KEY colors of the trend. Antique gold/silver buttons, and zippers can create the military feel instantly!
Here are some of my favorite looks of the season...
Left: Chain shoulder cotton jacket; Ruffled chiffon blouse - WAREHOUSE
Right: Cotton Military coat with metal epaulettes - MARKS and SPENCER

SPRING/SUMMER TREND - SHEER
One of THE HOTTEST Spring/Summer trends of 2010 is SHEER fabrics. This season its all about pairing flowy sheer fabrics with constructed modest items. Seen on many celebrities, models off the runway and of course on the streets of London - sheer blouses, tops and tanks are often paired with denim of all styles and washes.
There's something so chic about the draping of sheer fabric, it just oozes effortless femininity that every girl longs for. Here are some of my favorites...
